Matnog, Sorsogon (Juag Fish Sanctuary)

Early morning of June 9, we left our hotel room at Wek's hotel in Brgy. Cabid-an Sorsogon city and  boarded a jeepney bound to Matnog Sorsogon. The jeepney was scheduled at 5:30AM, and because we arrived at Sorsogon Grand terminal way early than 5:30AM, we first had our breakfast in a nearby carinderia. pancit it is! :)

Kudos to LGU's of sorsogon for havin' a nice, clean and well-maintained Public terminal. remind me of Lucena grand terminal, ang linis! :)
From the grand terminal, we travel for almost 2hrs before reaching Matnog port. This is my most awaited sorsogon trip! im excited to ride a boat again, excited to brave the waves and excited to see another island/beach!

that was quite a long trip, but hey the ride was not that boring, ive got cool friends onboard who are sleeping.haha kidding aside, the travel didn't bored me, the view outside the jeep was overwelming, I mean seeing nature at is best, what else can you ask for? well, aside from that, I was also busy braiding my hair to make sure iL got a rasta/beachy look.

Before we proceed to our Island hopping, we had our breakfast at ate Irma's store. small house with a sala converted to a store slash carinderia. Nice thing about ate Irma is that she cooks for us, well ofcourse it's not for free, but the thing is lutong bahay ang peg! we had a sumptous filipino breakfast! all the things we need like bottled water, canned goods, chips, biscuits and food for our lunch are all purchased at ate Irma's store. (ohh we even used thier banyo! at home kmi really!)
Our breakfast! dinuguan, sardinas w/ kalamansi/sibuyas and scramble eggs! solve!

Our first stop-- Juag Fish Sanctuary. Ok honestly, I wasn’t expecting much about Juag Lagoon. I wondered what could be so special about a fish sanctuary? But i proved myself ohh so damn wrong! while our boatman manuavered through the Fish sanctuary, everything around us just wowed me. and it even wowed me when we were cruising into the calm and clear water inside the fish sanctuary, and when i say clear, it is realy clear. Gahhhhhd! :)
on our way to the fish sanctuary, im busy checking my braid :)

Picture perfect scenery while traversing to Juag Lagoon.
Just look how clear the water!

A small native hut and fish pen welcomed us. upon entering the small hut, we excitedly pose to the colorful welcome to Juag Fish Sanctuary and made that as our backdrop.
While we were in the sanctuary, I thought that probably this is the highlight of my trip to Matnog. I just love the clear water and all those fishes of different shapes, colors and breed.
Lemme just put this pic here, i love our genuine smile. :)
my travel buddies: wawoy, kaloy, ate belle

Ok here's a tip, before going to the sanctuary, make sure you haven't put sunblock. just brave the heat of the sun, let your skin be sun-kissed. 'coz lemme tell you, it's all worth it! without sunblock, you can swim freely and inter-act with these marine creatures!
This  improvised enclosure for breeding fish and other marine life itself was a nice place to swim, remind me of the hotspring in Irosin with crystal-clear blue green water but here it has a teeming collection of marine life.

Fun was all over the sanctuary.  you will be intoxicated of happiness by just looking at those fishes. we indulge in feeding a variety of fish with lightning speed once we throw in some of the food pellets sold by the caretaker.
Speed of light moves! mga patay gutom na fishes! haha
Kaloy was perpetually happy in feeding those fishes. He even played tricks with those fishes by letting the fishes wait for the food.
Look they are waiting for the food to be thrown! haha :)
Fish and fish and fish all over!
Before leaving the sanctuary I was amazed by seeing more banca's coming loaded of tourists and locals who are much more eager to see a hidden treasure like this Sanctuary.
See those beaming faces? Oh God this unexpected side trip that turned out to be one hell of experience! one of the best! :)
