Bulusan, Sorsogon (Bulusan Lake and Nature Park)

A side trip to Bulusan Lake right after our relaxing Irosin experience was quite thrilling on my part, I mean there's a thrill by just merely thinking that we will be going to travel again.yeah right, side trips really means trike, bus, boat etc. name it! :)

From Mateo Hot Spring, we hailed a trike that will bring us to Irosin Proper. The trike halted at the Irosin Public Market where Jeepneys going to Bulusan can be found. Irosin is the entry and exit point to Bulusan Volcano National Park. What makes me feel so giddy about this sidetrip to Bulusan Lake is the fact that we will be riding on top of the Jeep! Gahhhhd it's my first time! ok fine, a probinsyana hailed from a small island of catanduanes experiencing her first ever top load jeepney ride, such a LOSER! haha
with travel buddies ate belle and wawoy, we are enjoying the ride! woaaah!

OMAYGAAHD! top load jeepney ride was really awesome!

All smiles! can't contain the feeling, top load princess! haha

The road going to Bulusan Lake was quite Baguio'ish. narrow zigzag road, but with scenic view of Pili Plantation along the roadside. Because we dont know where to make "para", we ask the driver to just drop us at Bulusan Volcano Natural Park. After more or less 30-minute ride, we are already at our destination.
Entrance of Bulusan Lake
was amazed with these signages! cute! :)
okey, overly shouting that yeah w've been here!

Bulusan Volcano Natural Park is a nationally protected rain forest surrounding Mt. Bulusan. It features the active Bulusan volcano, the lake and Apart from Mount Bulusan there are two peak mountains its Sharp peak and Mt. Jormahan.

Located at 2 kilometers from the hi-way, you could either walk or take a tricycle to the main gate.and because it's our first time, we are skeptical about walking all the way, so we rented a trike to bring us inside the park. Along the way, lush green trees are all over the area, scenic view of the mountains, the cold atmosphere, and the stillness of the mossy green lake. It's ohhh sooo awesome!

With it's lush tropical plants surrounding the area, it is ideal for relaxation and even meditation.
You can do kayaking, boating and trekking inside, wawoy was so excited to try kayaking and boating, however, ate belle was quite scared of the idea, "parang may Anacondang lalabas sa water!" she quirks! haha

We decided to trekk the area. with a help from the tour guide, we traverse the area. we walked through the concrete pathway that encircle the lake.
Yes bring trail food if you want, but please "don't change the mountain"
A well-preserved nature at its best
According to our guide, trekking around the lake took 45mins to 1hr. and he was so amazed 'coz our group finished it in less than 45minutes.He was like:"tao ba kayo?!" HAHA :)
This was the end point of the trek. I did say a lil' prayer. with all the sidetrip and the much anticipated matnog escapade, what more can you ask for? nothing! but be thankful!

We left the park in time for lunch, this time we walked the 2KM road leading to the highway. Dry leaves, fallen petals and flowers are all over, it was wow! we were laughing hard while walking, chitchating, taking pictures, trying to capture a jumpshot (we failed! arrggh! how we wish kaloy's with us. we need his presence and yeah his camera.haha).
Jumpshot failed.haha

When we reached the highway, we waited for a jeep bound to Irosin proper, from the city proper, we ride another jeep bound to Sorsogon city, which by the way our friend Kaloy is already waiting for us.

Try to visit this natural park when your in Sorsogon. experience tranquillity, relaxation and be one with the Nature, and yes be wowed by the beauty of this preserved rain forest. Ideal for some bonding time with your family and friends.
