Laoag IlocosNorte

This is still part of our North trip. still with my two best boy'friends. we left Pagudpud before lunch then hopped on an hour bus ride to Laoag. We had lunch at Mang Inasal, when our tummy had the best of their life, we started touring the place. ohhh this is the afternoon that was probably the hottest.. ever!
The City of Laoag is a 1st class city in the province of Ilocos Norte, Philippines. It is the capital city of Ilocos Norte, and the province's political, commercial, and industrial hub. source. wikipedia

So what can you do in Laoag? we kick off the tour by  checking out the Sinking tower of Laoag "Aside from the  fact that this tower is already sinking , it also leans slightly to the north" thus, leaning and sinking tower" :)

The belltower is standing in the central district of Laoag City, about hundred steps away from St. William Cathedral. For those who might be thinking that this tower is no longer in use, you are wrong because the 6 bells hung in this tower still ring to call the faithful.

One thing i love about Laoag is the cleanliness. mahihiya kang mag tapon kahit kapirasong
balat ng kendi :)

Across the sinking tower is the Aurora Plaza where the headstone for Tobaco Monopoly is built. The park is so much historical by landscape and structure. The style is obviously influenced by Spanish to modern architecture.

There are numbers of museums around Ilocos, one is the Museo Ilocos Norte.
The museum is nicknamed, “Gameng,” from the Iloco word meaning treasure. It symbolizes the wealth of Ilocos Norte. There is an assortment of items displayed on both floors of the two-storey building. Before you exit out of the museum, you will find a small gift shop1 which sells an assortment of native products and handicraft of Ilocos Norte, and a few books and other publications written about the province.

I'm fascinated with welcome signs.haha  :)

The famous  Welcome LAOAG city :)
one of the most important landmarks of the whole province  is the Malacañang of the North also called as “Malacañang ti Amianan”.
welcoming  us! :)

as history will tell us this house was originally the official residence of the Marcos family. They practically lived, slept and partied there. It's a very Spanish themed house wherein everything is just airy breezy, with huge salas and caidas.

Some of the rooms turned museum.
The display of historical objects was not limited to the late President Marcos' alone it also exhibited his wife's (former first lady Imelda Marcos) penchant for exquisite accessories and glamorous Filipiniana gowns.

Im always a  Marcos fan, all that's been said and done, I still can't help but be amazed by his brilliance.

Our bratty side goes along the way to iLocos.HAHA :) Note: there are signs saying "bawal maupo at mahiga".  Brenn and I just really don't have the museum etiquette. Maybe were absent on the day it was taught in school. Excuse us. :)
