Lucban, Quezon (Pahiyas Festival)

Pahiyas Festival is one of the most colorful festivals in the Philippines, it is held every May 15th in Lucban, Quezon, in honor of the patron saint of farmers, San Isidro Labrador. Its' also their way of showcasing the town's abundant harvest by displaying colorful rice wafers (kiping), fruits, vegetables and handicrafts adorning every house participating in the festival.
It's fun to see and yeah join  the colorful and lovely marching band :)

Last wednesday I was able to catch the 6AM Bus (Lucena Lines). It took me  almost 4Hours from Manila to Lucena Grand terminal. Upon reaching Lucena Grand Central Terminal, I boarded a Lucban bound jeepney or mini bus. It’s just around 45 minute ride from the grand terminal.
Finally! Welcome  Lucban! :)
Tricycles and jeepneys are not allowed inside  the town, so you need to walk from the welcome sign going to the town proper where the church and the street adorned with kiping are located. Here's a photo essay of my Pahiyas Festival in Lucban:

The famous Kiping, which are adorn and strung together to form all sorts of shapes, add    colors and vibrant in the  decoration. from chandelier called "ARANGYA" to huge flowers. Kiping is made from ground rice flour, shaped on leaf forms and colored in radiant red, fuschia, yellow, green and other bright shades.
