Friday night of June 7, together with wawoy and ate belle, we braved the 12hour bus ride going to sorsogon city.A true backpacker sometimes sacrifices hygiene over budget. oOooppss OK nevermind that part.(amin na lang 'yun.HAHA)
First plan was to actually stay in a hotel somewher in sorsogon city and wait for our friend Kaloy who will be coming from Legazpi. But wawoy was bored bout the idea of spending our precoius time waiting and waiting. so without hesitation we alighted at the laid back town of Irosin, a second class municipality and It is the only land-locked municipality of the province. Irosin is also the entry and exit point to Bulusan Volcano National Park.
Irosin sits at the base of Mt. Bulusan, an active volcano, thus irosin is blessed with abundant flow of natural springs.
The 3 of us can't wait to dip our weary body on any hotspring that will come our way, but we heard nice things about Mateo Hot and Cold Spring Resort, so from the National Highway of Brgy. Monbon, we hitch a trike towards a short section of dirt road towards the resort.

The resort was known for its hot and cold springs in a natural setting. The place was serene, clean and very inviting for those who really want a good escape from the hustle and bustle of the city life. They have a canteen that serves food, we had our breakfast there. Very provincial and very year 1880-ish ang peg ng canteen. Wide capiz windows that give a great ventilation sa area.
Poolside picnic cottages, shower and changing rooms, and overnight accommodation are available at the resort. They also have shower and dressing rooms, and a grilling station if you wish to grill.
The naturally heated water at the hot spring resorts certainly relaxes our muscles from all the stress.
So if your looking for a rewarding weekend, try to submerge in one of many Hot Springs in Irosin. when you're in Sorsogon, reward yourself with a great relaxation moment by visiting Irosin's hot springs.

It was quite hot in the beginning but we got use to it eventually. But as you stay longer the water was relaxing and soothing to the nerves.
The sulphuric healing properties must have been working wonders to us, really its a stress buster! I just wish our friend kaloy and dadan was with us, ang daming stress ang matatangal sa kanila.HAHA
