Our Baguio Trip has lot of
surprises; little did we know that by visiting the nearby Municipality of La
Trinidad Benguet, we will be experiencing an almost-post-Panagbengga festival.
We took a cab bound to La
Trinidad Benguet to visit its famous Strawberry Farm, the driver told us that
we might experience heavy traffic as there’s an ongoing activity, I thought
it’s just a small activity.
Behold when we arrived, it’s
their 6th Strawberry festival! The long stretched of their national
highway are closed as there’s a grand street parade.
It’s about 15 minutes walk
to the strawberry farm, but we didn’t mind at all, we are amazed with the
colorful costumes and floats of fresh flowers and strawberries!
HYPE!
Mardi Grass in La Trinidad! Fusion of modern and local music are being played through their xylophones, an upbeat music with their drums giving hype to the people around who are just like us are equally excited to watch the grand parade to start.
Festival like these reminds me of our very own Catandungan Festival; Loud, upbeat, colourful, fun!

La Trinidad Strawberry
Festival though was I think way colourful, I mean of course due to these
flower-packed floats, but wait till you see floats during Panagbengga festival
though, I’ve attended four times of it during my college days in Baguio. Yet
then again the strawberry festival was really fun!
We get to dance with the beat of the drum, photo opt with colourful floats and get to take picture with cuties like this little girl!

Strawberries and more!
While the parade is just
about to start we had a quick strawberry farm tour. It’s a must if you’re in La
Trinidad!
This signage catches our
eyes, oh proud Bicolanos. The owners call our attention while shouting: Mara na kamu kabayan, barakal na kamu.!
Pasalubong stalls are all
over the area, there’s still freshly picked strawberries ready for sale, amount
ranges from P120 –P200, even fresly picked lettuce and other veggies are
available for sale.
Before heading back to the
Baguio, we had to eat lunch first, and we randomly just picked a Carenderia as
we have no more time looking for one as our tummy are already rumbling of
hunger.
And another surprise La
Trinidad for us! This small eatery which is just in the heart of the busy
street of La Trinidad offer not only quality and affordable viand, but extra
delicious too!
The Dinuguan and beef
steak are so yummy, tender and tasty! But wait till you tasted their soup!
Ohhh I must tell you, I
was not able to move on for that until we went back to Manila. I can still
smell and taste it in my mind; it’s a soup to die for. Pramis!
This 6th Strawberry festival of La Trinidad in Benguet was indeed a fun filled experience!
P.S:
Have you been to La Trinidad? If Yes, then these colorful sights captured your eyes, for sure : )
How to Get There:
From Baguio City proper,
you can ride a Cab that will drop you off at the main entrance/gate of
Strawberry Farm, No hassle at all! About P100 for a fare.
If you want to feel a
little less of a tourist, you can walk
past the market going to Magsaysay road and look for a jeep bound to La
Trinidad, that’s about P14.00 /pax for your fare, you can just tell the driven
to drop you off at Strawberry farm. From the main road you can walk a few steps
to the main entrance of the farm.
All the Love,
Yannah
